After our puppet ministry, many of the kids liked to perform their own puppet show. With a limited number of puppets, and 15 or so kids, there were always several puppeteers eagerly wanting their turn. When James got his opportunity, he positioned the puppet on his hand and with a big smile on his face lifted it high over his head.
Many of the other children were reaching for his puppet, wanting to shorten their wait. As I looked at James, I could tell he was not aware of the clamor around him. He had let his imagination take over. He and his friend were off in a field playing together, forgetting all his troubles.
Imagination is powerful.
