This painting is a portrait of our son and a birdhouse that he and his grandfather built. Not long after they finished the birdhouse, my father past away. The tree is symbolic of my dad and the bark wound just above my son's head is the cancer that took his life. In the spring after I started this painting, a family of nuthatch made the first nest in the house. |
